Thanks to all the members for encouraging a matching donation from both members and the club, and to those members that donated funds to the court challenge! With all funds received, we are able to forward a cheque to the CCFR today in the amount of $5500! We hope the CCFR has great success in their court challenge.
As the province eases restrictions and moves us into phase three of their reopening plan, the board has been actively monitoring the updates and has decided to make the following change in policy. BRSC will now be accepting guests with the usual restrictions. As a member, you are responsible for your guests. They must observe all social distancing guidelines and be respectful of the COVID measures in place. No guest should come to BRSC if they feel sick or have recently been exposed to anyone having COVID 19.
For guests looking to attend scheduled events like Trap or Sporting Clays, the event chairs cannot accept people with limited firearms handling skills at this time. They must be proficient in the firearm of the sport, as we currently do not have the resources to train brand new shooters. If all they need is a spotter and to learn the sport, that is fine. Where possible, contact the chair beforehand to ensure they have the resources available, and for Trap, it is best if they come on the second squad when the field is less busy.
August Members meeting
We are planning to go ahead with the August monthly meeting but with some modifications. In order to enhance the safety for all involved, we will be holding the meeting outdoors. Since it will be held outdoors we want to maximize the amount of sunlight and therefore the meeting will be held at 7PM and not the usual 8pm. We ask that all attendees bring their own chairs and bug spray. The washrooms will be cleaned before and after the event, obviously they cannot be cleaned in between use, so use your best judgement. At this time there is no rain date scheduled, if the weather looks bad we will postpone to a later date.
