Rifle shooting competition has typically been .17 cal rimfire and .22 cal rimfire, bench rest, in two categories, scope and iron sight. In the past we have organized competitive shoots three or four times a year, with a five dollar entry fee and a modest trophy for the winner of each category.
The rifle section has posted the schedule for rifle competition shoots for the 2017 year. Informal shoots will be held Wednesday mornings at 10am (please call first), formal shooting Sunday morning at 11am (please call first). Special Dates (2017) are as follows;May 14 Varmint Rifle Shoot
Non-competitive rifle shooting runs the gamut from hunters doing their annual sight in to military rifle buffs reliving their youth. There are all manner of firearms seen on the ranges of Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Club, from inexpensive .22s to very expensive target rifles with all the bells and whistles.
