Conservation

New members as well as existing members are always welcome to take part in conservation activities at Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Club.  Our primary area of concern is the maintenance and enhancement of the fish habitat of the Beaver River.  To that end we have been involved in bank stabilization, tree planting and channel cleanup.  The club works closely with other fish conservation groups in the area.

We have also been involved in tree plantation beyond the requirements of fishery conservation, on the club grounds of some 150 acres.  About one third of the club's land area is designated as  a wetland.

This past year we are proud to be the recipients of a Certificate of Appreciation from The Ministry of Natural Resources (photo below).  It will hang in a place of honour in the club house.

The Committee Chairman for Conservation is Greg Maxwell, (519) 599-3682.
